MODERN REENACTMENTS OF GREEK DANCES
The annual dance event of the Tripoli Center of Greek Dance, supported by and under the Auspices of Greek Dance Archives and IOV, took place with great success at the beautiful stone theatre at the Aghios Georgios woods in Tripoli.
The evening, which was dedicated to the modern reenactments of Greek dances, took us back in time to the regions where Hellenism flourished: Asia Minor, Pontos, Eastern Thrace, the Greek mainland and islands. Dancers of all ages took part with the advice of Mrs. Maria Karapanou and her partners.
The enthusiasm of the audience who packed the theatre, their warm applause, and the 180 dance members of ÊÅ×ÏÔ, musicians, dance formations, ostentatious dance figures, and the rich colorful costumes created a wonderful, moving atmosphere, which was rewarding for all concerned.
The participation of children with special needs was especially noteworthy and was received very warm applause.
All the contributors deserve to be congratulated.
The Mayor of Falanthou, Mr Kostas Psyharis, was present at the occasion. |
